Coming Up For Air

So, eventually, venturing out into the wilderness to punch trees while fighting off mutant spiders and self-destructing lizard-things got a bit... meh.

Started up my Sims game, built a shiny new house in a small but populated town that I've played in before, put a few of my favorite sims in it, and promptly crashed before I could get anything done.

Went "How could it have gotten WORSE since I played last?  Oh, hell," boxed up everything I cared about, and did a nice fresh wipe down and reinstall.  Now, sitting on a fresh new game, I'm unable to download more than 3 of the 1000+ Store items I own at a time without crashing (I can't download through the store site at all), and I haven't even tried adding my non-store stuff.

Nice.

I'll try fighting with it more tomorrow, because I do kinda miss it, and more relevantly, I miss all the entertaining people I geeked out with while playing Sims.  If only I could rescue the poor game from the deck of EA's failboat.

So, assuming anyone's still out there... what's new?  Where do all the interesting simmers hang out?  Is Showtime not worth the money like it looks like it's not worth the money?

  1. Sorry to hear you're having troubles, Jules!

Cami roped me (indirectly) into joining tumblr

So that's where I've been with my sims! :P

  2. I got everything working (*knock on wood* it's installed, but I haven't gotten to playing outside of Edit Town yet...), but it did take me wiping and reinstalling three times to get it all set up just so. Finniky beast, the game is.

...Does this mean I am going to have to figure out how to use Tumblr now?

  3. Glad you got it installed! :)

...supposedly, tumblr is where all the "cool" kids are at! I see a lot of nice shots and get some ideas from them! I'm still fighting the whole social side of it, though! :P As more people begin to follow me, I am reluctant to follow them back! :P
